We are excited to announce that Narmeen Sajid is the recipient of the Art Scribes Award 2026-27, Prameya Art Foundation’s initiative for emerging writers and curators since its inception.

Under the Villa Swagatam umbrella of the French Institute in India, The Art Scribes award includes a curatorial residency at the Château La Napoule, La Napoule At Foundation, France through March 2027. During the residency, she will have time to research and further develop her proposal before culminating in an exhibition at Prameya Art Foundation in 2028.

Narmeen Sajid is an art writer, artist-curator and independent publisher based out of New Delhi. Her curatorial inquiries are grounded in the cultural contexts formed by histories of diaspora formation, migration, and material memory in South Asia. She runs a Substack publication, Vision and Visuality, where she publishes essays on contemporary art and visual culture. This year, she curated the exhibition UNEARTH: A Play on Material Memory at KHOJ Studios, as part of the Curatorial Intensive South Asia (CISA) 2025 programme. She is also a recipient of the CEPT Essay Prize 2025 and has contributed to the ABANDON anthology series, CEPT University Press, Ahmedabad.
